Terra is a classical artist who uses traditional media to create her artwork. She paints, draws, etches, and sculpts.
Her work is a reminder of the beauty both inside and outside us and a celebration of Nature’s magic. Terra chooses to show us light instead of darkness, beauty instead of hideousness, focusing our attention towards positive energy to elicit change.
She portrays the human spirit in Nature in order to reveal Nature’s spirit in humans.
Terra’s look at the world invites us to slow down and connect with nature and humanity’s past, nourishing the deeper parts of ourselves.
Terra is an American painter based in Malta.
At seven years old, Terra took her first painting class. She continued taking private lessons. Each of Terra’s private teachers where important to her education and artistic growth: Sandy Prat, Javier Ramos, Margaret Meade, Dorthy Benson, and Dimitar Kruschev, and the Gallerist Shirley Medlin.
They all gave her a head start for when she finally entered the Academic setting. At the age of 18 she went to study full time in Florence where she stayed for five and a half years. In Florence Terra attended three different academies, starting at the Angel Academy of Art, later graduated from the Painting Program at Florence Academy of Art, and also the Drawing Program at the Russian Academy of Art in Florence.
Terra works both as a painter and as a teacher. She enjoys sharing the world of painting and drawing with her students. She taught many private lessons and worked at the Barcelona Academy of Art as a teacher for three years.
She has shown in many galleries, including group shows, open studios, and solo exhibitions.
She had her first gallery showing when she was 13 years old at the Medlin Art Gallery in Leesburg, Virginia.
