Had a lot of fun with this one!
As a painter and draftsman I see creativity both outside in the world as well as within myself. The creative patterns of design and repetition in Nature endlessly inspire me. Lately in my work I am exploring the theme of larger than life celestial figures who design, decorate, play, and watch over our world from the starry skies. They are kind but have a healthy dose of detachment from our small day to day problems. They remind me of the bigger picture in life.
In my work I am inspired by many mythologies, stories, and religions, but my work creates its own story. So these figures are also a bit of a metaphor of the creation of my pictures as well as the personifications of the magical unseen forces of Nature.

A little break from working at the easel for this digital sketch after Alphonse Mucha. I use digital media as a way to correct student`s drawings and paintings so I like taking time to study and practice my hand at it. It`s a strange mixture of painting, pencil, and watercolor. I honestly love experimenting with it!
